Michigan Pride 2011 is just around the corner! We are busy finalizing plans and wanted to give a heads up of the exciting events for this year's festival.
We will kick off the event with the White Party in Old Town. Michigan Pride will have the beer tent in Lot 56 at the corner of Grand River Avenue and Turner St. open from 7 pm to 11 pm. Many thanks to Dan Henry Company, Absolut and Barefoot Wines for their generous sponsorship of this event. Esquire, Spiral and Sir Pizza Grand Cafe will be open until 2 am.
The March will commence at 11 am on Saturday, June 11. Staging will occur on Grand Avenue just south of Saginaw Street alongside Adado Riverfront Park. The march will proceed south on Grand Avenue to Michigan, then head east to the Michigan State Capitol.
The Rally will feature speakers and a commitment ceremony on the East Lawn of the capitol.
The Diversity Festival will be held in Lot 56 and Burchard Park in Lansing's historic Old Town neighborhood. Festival admission is free for members of Michigan Pride (join now!), or $5 for the general public. The beer tent will be open from 11 am to 8 pm. We have an exciting lineup of entertainment and will be making more specific announcements regarding specific times in the near future.
Michigan Pride will have special perks available for Century Club members and sponsors throughout the festivities. Many thanks to those willing and able to support Michigan Pride at this level.
We are still looking for volunteers. Please fill out a volunteer application if your are interested in working with the festival this year.
