To help celebrate our 20th Anniversary, Michigan Pride is taking to the skies. At 10:05 pm on the 28th of June, there will be fireworks over the Festival Park!!!! This will be something the Capitol city hasn't seen before ... a Gay Pride that lights up the night sky!!! This event will be fully funded by, and conducted by, Defying Gravity Fireworks - - a gay-owned company right here in Michigan! It was a major battle for these guys to pull this off - dealing with red tape, anti-gay prejudice, and petty government officials. But they did it.
We are adding two more groups to the Festival Stage line-up. Barbara Payton .... and Jennifer Corday & the G-Strings. So the music will continue into the night. The bar will also be open much later. So instead of heading off to the usual hot, stuffy, crowded, "can go anytime" bar ... stick around at the Park! Drink, dance, enjoy the show ... then enjoy the fireworks!
It's a new Board, and a whole new Pride ... you won't want to miss out on this one!!!!!
