Membership Drive and Donations Putting on the annual Pride event costs a great deal of money. Corporate sponsors cover part of the bills, but Pride relies on funds raised from memberships and community donations to cover the balance. The level of quality and amount of variety for the various events scheduled during Michigan Pride weekend is based solely on funds raised. Seeking Volunteers On June 30 more than 100 volunteers are needed to make Michigan Pride happen. For the past 17 years Michigan Pride has been sustained by the power of volunteers.
