Capitol Rally

Our diverse group of speakers will reflect this year's Michigan Pride theme "We Are Family". Lansing City Councilmember Kathie Dunbar will be the Emcee, with rally speakers to include: Michigan Equality Board Member, the Rev. Dr. Julie Nemecek; Joanne Nemecek; Chris Ramazzotti; Michelle Brown; Peg Ball; Michigan Equality President Douglas Meeks; and Dr. Penny Gardner. Membership Drive and Donations Putting on the annual Pride event costs a great deal of money. Corporate sponsors cover part of the bills, but Pride relies on funds raised from memberships and community donations to cover the balance. The level of quality and amount of variety for the various events scheduled during Michigan Pride weekend is based solely on funds raised. Seeking Volunteers On June 30 more than 100 volunteers are needed to make Michigan Pride happen. For the past 17 years Michigan Pride has been sustained by the power of volunteers. By volunteering for a few hours you can become a part of this rich tradition. You will have the grattitude of Michigan Pride, and all those who attend the event.
